What's new in Ellié Computing Merge 2.0?
Folder synchronization via FTP/FTP over SSL
You can now connect to remote servers via FTP/FTPS protocols, compare/merge and synchonize files and directories.
Use it to deploy websites.
You can specify a proxy/firewall to use to access FTP servers, you can also prevent an FTP source from using the default proxy.
ECMerge can use parallel connections to FTP sites, to improve file transfers bandwidth (download/upload).
Set a delay before reconnections, and a maximal number of reconnection attempts.

Image Comparisons
Compare 2 or 3 images visually, or generate reports. Most famous formats are supported:
- Compuserve GIF (Graphic Interchange Format)
- JPEG (Joint Point Group)
- TIFF
- XPM
- BMP
- PNG
- ICO (Microsoft Icon File Format)

Wrap long lines
Ellié Computing Merge can wrap the long lines to get rid of the horizontal scrol bars.
In-line merge capacity
Now merge lines at in-line level, using all sources or favouring left or right side.
In the sample below, the operator selected the "Resolve with left and right in-line" option and the conflict contained 2 changes:
- a non conflicting modification (line 554 of the ancestor), added text in left side, changed text in right side. The resulting text can be computed automatically and gives the lines 27/28 of the result view.
- a conflicting modification (line 555 of the ancestor), changed text in both sides. The resulting text cannot be computed automatically. The operator is prompted to select the portion to keep.
Enhanced Folder Comparisons Views
ECMerge can now sort and group items in the Folder Comparison view. Display all folders together at top or bottom of the list of files, or let them ordered with the files.
Sort items by clicking on the corresponding column.
Optional Case Sensitive file name association
There is now an option to match files by name respecting or not the case. Comparing without case sensitive matching allows you better matches when comparing directories on computers with different case handling.
New graphical user interface
ECMerge now presents several toolbars you can move, dock and hide.
