The version of ECMerge ActiveX presented in the page is not marked as 'Safe for scripting', because it contains the entire power of ECMerge. A new version will be published with this marker, together with the appropriate constraint applied to the code of ECMerge to actually secure it. You have to authorize the execution of scripts in the Security panel of Internet Options, place http://www.elliecomputing.com inside the list of trusted sites, then check 'Ask' for the option "ActiveX Controls and plug-ins/Control of initialization and script for ActiveX marked as non secure". Once checked, Internet Explorer will ask you to accept the execution of scripts acting on non-secure ActiveX, including this version of ECMerge. If you did not read these instructions before trying to act with the demo, Internet Explorer certainly displayed the security bar at the top of the page: please apply the above, then reload the page (e.g. with F5)
The ECMerge component does not exist yet for NPAPI (the programatic interface used by Firefox, Netscape, Opera...). If you would like a port for this technology, contact us.
Note that ECMerge component is somewhat heavy (several MB). The first display may take more than one minute.
If you'd like to see all the features of ECMerge Component, download the standalone Pro version of ECMerge: ECMerge Component supports all of its features.
